Our Kindergarten I program serves students who have turned 4 by October 1. Staffed by early childhood educators, our KG 1 program creates opportunities for children to learn social skills and school readiness skills.  Our experiential, hands-on learning approach inspires problem solving skills and creativity.  Puzzles, painting, make believe, construction activities alongside singing, read aloud time and more, contribute to developing skills and most important, a love of learning.

Our KG I preschool program is a natural continuation of the "whole child" learning and development philosophy introduced in the three-year-old program.  KG I is designed by educators to meet the needs of individual children in all areas of their development.  With the guidance of experienced caregivers, KG I children will learn through a variety of means, which include:

  • A curriculum that integrates the Jolly Phonics program into daily activities
  • Daily reading and writing readiness activities
  • Active, hands-on learning experiences (indoor and outdoor play, number play, building blocks, etc.)
  • Utilization of theme based learning centers such as drama, arts and crafts, stories, math, writing readiness, etc.
  • Introduction to mathematics such as numeration skills, counting, etc.

Throughout the year, children will be actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences that focus on readiness for Kindergarten II.
