Welcome to the Elementary School PDF Print E-mail

Dear Parents and Students,

From the Early Years’ program to Grade Five our goal at AIS-R Elementary is to create an environment rich in caring, positive expectations and participation so that each child’s innate potential for healthy development and learning will be realized. We strive to appreciate the whole child and thus are attentive to their cognitive, social/emotional and physical needs. You will witness your child’s continuum of learning in our annual Portfolio Day. All children participate in thematic assembly presentations, thus demonstrating the integration of their learning experiences. At AIS-R students are valued and distinguished in a variety of ways that allow them to express their uniqueness and explore their potential.

We support our students with the high expectations message, “You can do it!” We provide our students with meaningful learning opportunities like cultural festivals, science fairs and other varied activities; we are a school community that is optimistic and proactive about the potential of our learners. At AIS-R we promote peaceful problem solving and teamwork over competition. Parents are esteemed as an important and valued partner in the success of their children’s education.

We have a population of approximately 500 students from Pre K – 5. Throughout the week students from Kindergarten through Grade Five have classes in math, language arts, science and social studies. Students also explore and experience Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer, Drama (1-3), Arabic Culture (3-5), Arabic Language (3-5) and French (3-5). Additionally students are offered a variety of enrichment opportunities in our after school program (ASA). AIS-R Elementary is a place where learning is dynamic, hands-on and differentiated and children are assessed based on their growth over time.

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to teaching the whole child and accepting each child unconditionally for who they are and to providing children with varied opportunities to be actively involved in age-appropriate learning experiences. We commit to providing an environment where children thrive, parents are partners and we connect together as a caring community. One young child, just learning to write, expressed “I am happy because I love school!” That sums up our greatest hope for our students…to love learning.
