We believe that the arts form the basis of culture in all societies.  They are a universal language that transcends national boundaries and differences, exalting the human spirit as a means of self-expression and cultural enrichment.  The arts are a means by which the culture of the past generation is transmitted to the present generation, contributing to the progress of the human race, by giving it meaning.

We believe that the arts are a core component of the school's curriculum.  By performing, creating and responding to various art forms, students experience different ways of thinking and feeling.  Through their involvement with the arts, students become more self-aware and self-disciplined.

We believe that the need for aesthetic experiences is basic to human life.  Each student must be provided with the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills, self-knowledge, creativity, and aesthetic appreciation to allow him or her to become a complete person, both professionally and personally.  The reasoning and creative abilities gained from aesthetic inquiry and study will last throughout each individual's lifetime, enriching both mind and spirit.
