The AIS-R World Language program is a foreign language program, not a native language literacy program.  This language must not be the dominant language at home or at school.  We believe that all students are capable of, ad will benefit from, the study of a world language.  Our goal is to equip students linguistically and culturally to communicate successfully in a world of increasing global interdependence.

The World Language Program at the high school offers five years of Arabic, French, and Spanish at levels I through IB Higher Level.  Two years of world language study are required for graduation.  However, given the time generally needed for the acquisition of a functional level in a foreign language, each student is encouraged to study a foreign language for as long a sequence as possible.
