Art ClubArt club provides the right space, time and guidance for students who are interested in art, but cannot attend regular art classes or for students who simply want more art (such as seniors wanting to prepare art college portfolios). The main idea of this club centers around the idea of the gift. Projects may include t-shirts for Art Club members, the Bahrain Marathon or other events, fun and functional art work (for boys and girls), jewelry boxes, fabric painting, incense/candle holders, picture frames, on of a kind prints (used in book illustration, postcards and posters) and much more. A goal of this club is for members to create original and functional gifts and gift-like art work and to identify school events and people who would appreciate and accept these gifts. Works will be exhibited during HS assemblies and in Day With The Arts. PaletteThe mission of this activity is to enrich the lives of students at AIS-R by bringing color and comfort into the school through supervised interactive art activities. This club provides another dimension to help reinforce academics, teach problem solving techniques and inspire creativity while giving kids a chance to have fun with art. Student will work on creating murals for the "Blue Mile", sets and props for the HS fall plays, the MS Drama and the All School Spring Theater productions. Other projects include creating artwork and props for Health Week, mosaics on outdoor benches around the campus and painting the ceiling tiles in classrooms to enhance the feel, color and warmth of the classrooms. Mu Alpha Theta (Math Club)The purpose of this activity is to promote and enhance the interest of Mathematics. Our goal is to continue offering the ASMA/NESA math contests and to host the 6th annual math Olympiad. TWACThe purpose of this activity is to raise student awareness of environmental issues using technology. We plan to continue the recycling campaign and consider ways it might be extended. We also plan to advertise and encourage the school's involvement in Earth Hour. Club de la FrancophonieThe primary goal of this club is the promotion of the French language and the different cultures of the French speaking world. Our secondary goal is to organize a humanitarian project related to the French speaking countries. We would like to organize the collection of stationery and school supplies to help schools in need from the French speaking world. We would like to organize events in relation with the French speaking world. We would like to develop links with a French speaking school and organize a trip every other year to a French speaking part of the world. Arabic ClubThe purpose of the Arabic Club is to promote the Arabic Language. and culture. We hope to go on a trip this year. South Asian Student Association (SASA) SASA represents all South Asian nations, its culture and diversity. The club's purpose will be to organize events for the entire AIS-R community to promote awareness of South Asian culture and to promote diversity within students and faculty. Events organized shall be academically, culturally, socially and/or community oriented in nature. Funds raised will be donated to charitable organizations in South Asia. Model United NationsThe Model United Nations club is an organization in which students participate in a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and its committees. In the MUN, students play the role of representatives from UN member states and other international organizations and debate on a number of topics that include current and/or historical issues. As a delegate, students make speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with allies and adversaries and create solutions to resolve conflicts. MUN provides the opportunities for the development of a variety of skills such as public speaking, research, problem solving and conflict resolution that will enable the students to be successful global citizens. MUN is an ideal club as it promotes students' interest in the world around them and broadens a student's knowledge in a variety of subjects. Simply put, the club assists in developing the global citizen. Tri-MThe purpose of this club is to create an honor society for musicians. Club members will prepare for a recital. They will also work towards giving informal presentations at lunch time and other times of the day. Club members will serve as ushers at school performances and work with middle school students who play the same instrument. Aspiring Doctor's ClubThe purpose of this club is to give students aspiring to be doctors college application experience. Our goal is to provide as many clinical and guest speakers as possible.
