"If Unique is What You Seek, Check Us Out"

AIS-R Middle School has an enrollment of 250 students.  Teaming, common prep times for core teachers, block schedule (80-90 minutes), a daily advisory time and a plethora of explorations make us unique.  We have a few new additions this year.  Our new Student Centre is open to all students.  It is a very friendly, relaxed and warm area for students to come and socialize and also work on computers if they need to.  Comfortable couches and rugs make reading a cinch.  A big screen plasma television allows students to keep abreast of featured events throughout the day.

We have a new state-of-the-art technology lab.  Students learn critical thinking and media literacy skills in an engaging course of studies that takes them through digital photography, photo editing, animation and movie making.  The computer lab has its own photo studio with green screen, digital still and video cameras as well as a full compliment of new iMac computers.

We offer a myriad of sports, clubs, and activities.  Volleyball, basketball, soccer, track and field, and badminton have large participation numbers.  Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, and MUN are organizations that give back to the community.  Student Council is the student governing body of the school.  The sponsors are Ms. Deb Barr, Eighth Grade English Teacher and Ms. Catherine White, Sixth Grade Social Studies Teacher.  This organization along with the Eighth Grade Class has adopted an Ethiopian School here in Saudi Arabia.  The National Junior Honor Society sponsors are Ms. Holly Raatz, Seventh Grade English Teacher and Ms. Karen McMillan, Seventh Grade Math Teacher.  They assist with Family Fun Day and tutoring.  Middle School United Nations Club is our newest addition.  The sponsor is Ms. Crystal Van Cleef, Eighth Grade Social Studies Teacher.  Model U.N. promotes student and teacher interest in international relations and related subjects, increases the capacity for students to engage in problem solving, teaches aspects of conflict resolution, research, writing, and communication skills, and creates the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.  Members participate in the MUN SAIKAC Conference, which includes schools from around Saudi Arabia.  In addition to preparing for the conference, students will participate in fundraising and awareness projects, including but not limited to Walking for Water and Family Fun Day.

Yes, AIS-R Middle School is unique!
