Our English program is designed to meet the developmental and educational needs of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students with a strong focus on the strands of reading, writing, listening, speaking and media literacy/research.  This includes the Big 6 process model and MLA formatting and style.  Students are introduced to a variety of literature and literary devices through guided and independent reading.  AIS-R Middle School incorporates the 6+1 Traits of Writing model for writing instruction, using a broad range of writing for various audiences.  Through specific, varied instructional methods, students' information literacy skills are challenged and strengthened.  All students receive a stimulating, well-rounded English learning experience.
