Fine and Performing Arts PDF Print E-mail

The arts are a universal language that transcends national boundaries and differences, exalting the human spirit and providing a means for self-expression, cultural transmission, enrichment and exchange.  Therefore, the arts contribute to the progress of the human race by giving it meaning.  WE believe that the need for artistic experiences is basic to human life.  The arts encourage tolerance by allowing for opportunities to recognize and value the views of others and by challenging our own.

We believe that the arts are a core component of the school's curriculum.  In the arts, students learn by performing, creating and responding to various art forms.  They experience different ways of thinking, feeling interpreting and communicating.  Through their involvement with the arts, students become more aware of their place, role and function in the world.

The critical reasoning and creative abilities gained from artistic investigation will result in well-balanced, ethical and productive students who are intentionally-minded, life-long learners.
