Seat Deposit
In order to plan for the following school year, AIS-R collects a non-refundable seat deposit from both new students (who register between February 1 and summer break) and returning students. New students registering during this time period must pay the seat deposit within two school days of receiving their acceptance notification in order to guarantee their seat for the upcoming school year. Returning students who do not pay the seat deposit by May 5, 2019 will not be guaranteed their seat for the following year, will placed in the Wait Pool, and will be contacted if a seat becomes available. The seat deposit is not an additional fee as this amount will be credited towards the first semester tuition payment of the year. The seat deposit for the 2019-20 school year is 11,550 SAR (11,000 SAR without VAT)

Tuition Payment Methods
Tuition and fees are payable in Saudi Riyals (SAR) only. Payments may be made by wire transfer (preferred payment method), check, or cash. AIS-R does not accept debit or credit card payments.

Tuition Refunds
Tuition is only refundable when ALL of the following apply:
- The student did not attend school at any time during the semester; and,
- The student gave written withdrawal notice to the school before the first day of the semester; and,
- The student has already paid some or all of the tuition due for that semester
NEW STUDENT FEES
Application Fee
A non-refundable, non-transferable Application Fee is required for each student applying to AIS-R. This fee must be paid upon submission of application documents. This fee covers the cost of initial processing of the application and an appointment for testing.
Capital Fee
A non-refundable, one-time Capital Fee of 13,125 SAR (12,500 SAR without VAT) for students in Pre-K through Grade 8, and 19,950 SAR (19,000 SAR without VAT) for students in Grade 9 through Grade 12, is assessed for each new student entering AIS-R. This payment is due within two school days of receiving the acceptance notification in order to guarantee the seat, regardless of the student’s starting date. This fee is also assessed on all re-enrolling students. If a re-enrolling student paid the Capital Fee in the previous 36 months, he/she would pay the difference between the previous capital fee (in effect at the time of leaving AIS-R) and the current Capital Fee. If a student has been away from AIS-R for more than 36 months, he/she would pay the entire Capital Fee. This fee is used to continuously meet campus maintenance and technology needs.
Registration Fee
A non-refundable Registration Fee of 13,125 SAR (12,500 SAR without VAT) is assessed for all newly admitted students. This payment is due within two school days of the acceptance notification to guarantee the seat, regardless of the student’s starting date. This fee is also assessed on all re-enrolling students when more than 365 days have elapsed since the student’s withdrawal from AIS-R (i.e. when a student has not been enrolled at AIS-R for two or more consecutive semesters). Students who have only been away from AIS-R for one semester will be assessed 50% (plus 5% VAT) of this fee. This fee is used to cover the costs related to adding and maintaining new students in AIS-R’s systems, such as Skyward, Moodle, Destiny, and our ID cards for students, parents, nannies, and drivers. This fee also covers costs associated with withdrawals, including college matriculation, graduation, transcripts, and college counseling.
POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL FEES AND COSTS
Test Rescheduling Fee
Following the confirmation of a testing appointment, if the applicant neglects to inform the Admissions Office within two working days that they require rescheduling, a test rescheduling fee of 787.50 SAR (750 SAR without VAT) is assessed and must be paid prior to the testing appointment being rescheduled.
Learning Strategies Fee
This fee is applicable to all students who receive additional services from a Learning Strategies teacher, assisting each child to be successful in AIS-R’s program. Parents will be notified if these services will be required as a condition for their child’s admission. The Learning Strategies fee is 6,825 SAR (6,500 SAR without VAT) and is assessed on an annual basis. Students who enroll in the Learning Strategies program during the second semester will be billed at a prorated rate of 50% of this fee. This fee is only refundable if the student did not attend school during the semester.
English Language Learners (ELL) Fee
A minimum level of English language proficiency may be required for enrollment. Beginning in KG2, supplementary ELL instruction is provided for an additional fee to those students requiring assistance with English language acquisition. Testing and teacher recommendation determines student eligibility for ELL instruction. A questionnaire is included with the admissions application for parents to complete. The ELL fee is 6,825 SAR (6,500 SAR without VAT) and is assessed on an annual basis. Students who enroll in the ELL program during the second semester will be billed at a prorated rate of 50% of this fee. This fee is only refundable if the student did not attend school during the semester.
Bring Your Own Device Cost
AIS-R has a 1:World program and this requires that all students from Grades 3 to 12 bring their own device to school with them every day. Students in Grades 3 to 7 are required to bring an iPad and students in Grades 8 to 12 are required to bring their own laptop.
Arabic Language Program of Studies (ALPS) Fee
ALPS is an optional after-school Arabic Language program (speaking, reading, and writing) offered to students in Grades 1 to 12 (KG2 ALPS classes may be offered if a minimum of 8 students enroll). The ALPS fee is 6,300 SAR (6,000 SAR without VAT) per year. This fee is non-refundable after the student attends one session.
Miscellaneous Fees
AIS-R has numerous enriching programs and services and many of these have additional costs associated with them for those who participate. Examples include, but are not limited to, Week Without Walls trips, sports trips, Wellness (PE) uniforms, IB exams, dining hall services, remote testing proctoring, yearbook, etc.
